British Airways Fined Over £3 Million After Serious Falls at Heathrow
British Airways has been fined £3.2 million after two serious fall incidents at Heathrow’s Terminal 5. In August 2022, a 54-year-old worker fell 1.5 meters, suffering back and head injuries. In March 2023, a 43-year-old employee fell 3 meters, sustaining a fractured jaw and brain injury. Investigations revealed inadequate guardrails, unaddressed hazards, and incomplete safety features. British Airways pleaded guilty to breaches under the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
